Niseko is Japan's most famous international ski destination, and heliskiing here accesses terrain beyond the resort boundaries on peaks like Mt. Yotei — a perfectly symmetrical volcanic cone. Helicopter operations run when conditions permit, dropping skiers on the summit for a 1,200-meter descent through waist-deep powder and birch glades. Niseko averages 14-18 meters of snowfall per season, making it one of the snowiest places on earth.
